Judy knew what was coming and sent this email out Monday:
Dearest Family & Friends,
Just a quick note to let you know some sad news about my dad and also to apologize f/my lack of communication during the holidays. I was bombarded w/the dreaded flu-of EVERY variety and dealing w/dad and pnuemonia. I do hope the new year is bringing you all good health and prosperity. I’ll send out New Years cards when time allows.
This past Wednesday my dad was admitted to the Boone Cnty Hospital with his 3rd bout of Pnue in about a month . Over the past several months his health has really deteriorated due to multiple TIA’s (mini strokes). Long story short, he no longer has a gag reflex and everything he swallows goes down into his lungs. Right now he is in Hospice care @BCH. Probably a few days left. He does have a few moments of recognition, but f/the most part is comatose w/his eyes open. He has not taken anything in since about Sat and that was not much. Everything is shutting down. Only comfort meds are being given and funeral plans are being made.
If you didn’t have the privilege of knowing my dad he was such a hoot. Always there for us w/a smile and understood my need for fun and adventure and silliness.
I would just like to ask you all for continued thoughts and prayers. Our family puts all of our faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ and know he has the power to get us through this sad and trying time and i would like to ask to all to lift my dad and our family up and prayer.
Thanks for being the good friends that you are! God Bless. Judi & Fam
