Classmate Shelly Henry’s father, Hollis Henry, passed away December 23, 2010. His obituary:
Hollis Henry, 89, passed away on December 23, 2010 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Mr. Henry was born on May 14, 1921 in Lucas County to Horace and Cleo (Manley) Henry. He was a tanker truck driver and retired at age 72.
He is survived by his daughters, Marcia Henry of Des Moines, Rochelle Henry of Ankeny, and Joyce (Tim) Peterson of Fishers, IN; sister, Harriette Kinsey of Chariton; grandchildren, Tyler Peterson of Apopka, FL and Matthew Peterson of Chicago, IL; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris of 66 years in March of 2010.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 28 at Brooks South Town Funeral Chapel (7601 Fleur Dr., Des Moines). Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

So sorry for your loss Shelly. I know some about this kind of loss because both of my parents have already gone on. The grief will ease with time, this I know, but that does not mean you will ever forget your precious memories. Peace will come but be prepared for holidays because even though you think about them, even if it’s every day, the holidays seem to intensify all those emotions and feeling. Don’t stop the celebrating anyway!!! Make more, positive, happy, memories!!! to carry on throughout your life!!!
