William Baker

William Baker was the husband of classmate Judi Houghtaling Baker. His obituary from the Des Moines Register:

William Dean “Bill” Baker, 58, died Friday, December 24, 2010, at his home. His body has been cremated. A Memorial Service is Thursday, December 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Grace Community Church in Boone. Friends may call at the Church on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. A lunch will follow the Memorial Service .

Bill was born December 8, 1952, to Raymond E. and Ethel (Points) Baker in Des Moines. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1971 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in both Marketing and Management from Northwest Missouri State University in 1977. On June 28, 1975, Bill married Judi Houghtaling in Des Moines. Before moving to Boone in 1993, the couple lived in Des Moines and Lamoni. Bill was employed in sales, purchasing and management in the plumbing, HVAC, and hydronics heating and cooling industries for 30 years. He was currently employed with Allied Systems Inc. of Des Moines as a salesman. Bill was a member of Grace Community Church of Boone. Bill loved God, his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, sports, and spending time with family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Steve, and father in-law Edgar Houghtaling. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judi of rural Boone; his daughters Jenna (Dave) Eppert of Des Moines and Erin (Luke) Wittrock of Ames; four grandchildren: Jordan, Cali, and Madison Eppert, and Tala Wittrock; a brother, Jerry Baker of Des Moines; and mother in-law, Ruth Houghtaling of Madrid.

Memorials may be directed to the family to establish a memorial fund at a later date.
